Origin

A video that became a movement

In 2023, a pharmacy clerk posted a viral video against the 6x1 schedule, six days of work for one day off. It gave rise to Vida Além do Trabalho, whose petition passed 3 million signatures[2].

The PEC

From the internet to the floor

In November 2024, with Erika Hilton, Rick took the cause to a PEC, a constitutional amendment[2]. When the proposal was filed, in February 2025, the deputy said she would hand the more than 3 million signatures to the speaker of the Câmara, Hugo Motta[5].

Victory

Two days off, same pay

Congress approved the end of 6x1: two paid days of rest a week, with no pay cut, preferably one on Sunday. The maximum workweek falls from 44 to 40 hours, up to 8 hours a day. Promulgation is still pending[3].
